Mary P's Temporary Shop of Original Art!

I have just finished a busy and succesful Open Studio weekend and I'm feeling buzzy... I've been asked what originals are available but can't get my head around adding things to my Etsy shop tonight (Prints are here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MaryParsonsArt?ref=seller-platform-mcnav). So until I get it sorted, here are some pics with a bit of detail:

Painting by Mary Parsons of a trawler in Dry Dock

William Henry II in Dry Dock at Trafalgar Wharf

I recently spent a weekend in Portsmouth Harbour. This is one of a series of paintings I’ve done so far. The Dry Stack at Trafalgar Wharf was a fascinating place, with every size of boat up to this huge trawler. The boats wrapped in plastic were very intriguing.

Medium: mixed media (acrylic) framed with a mount

Size: 12”x16” image (16”x20” frame)

Price: £150

Painting by Mary Parsons of St Pauls on a winter evening, with pink and yellow

St Pauls

Visiting London last winter, we caught a late afternoon ferry down the Thames. There was something intriguing about the colour of the fading sunlight against the warm yellow streetlights that I wanted to capture here.

Medium: Oil on canvas

Size: 61cmx91cm (24”x36”)

Price: 350

Painting by Mary Parsons from the balcony of a Spanish building looking out over a square with a cafe

Siesta in Casares

After we had a meal in Casares, Spain, we looked out over the balcony of the restaurant. The busy little square went quiet as people gradually drifted away or into the shade. I have had many comments that I don’t include people in my work; I’ve included them here as they are central to my memory of the place.

Medium: Oil on canvas

Size: 60cmx90cm (23 ¾ ”x35 ½ ”)

Price: £350

A painting by Mary Parsons of an Orange Square - cafe tables in sunlight with orange trees

The Orange Square

The light and colour in a Spanish town are mesmerising to me, and this seems to culminate in the “Orange Square”. The contrast of sun and shade, the colours of oranges and leaves all come together here. This is an experimental painting using collage. The paper is protected / primed with Gesso before using oil paint.

Medium: mixed media with oil on canvas

Size: 60cmx90cm (23 ¾ ”x35 ½ ”)

Price: £350

Lock House

This is one of several paintings I’ve done after visiting Gloucester Docks on a sketching trip. In this image I was aiming for the vibrant style of Ladybird Books. I always remember the front cover style of their non-fiction books; this is a bit of nostalgia!

Medium: Oil on canvas

Size: 60cmx90cm (23 ¾ ”x35 ½ ”)

Price: £300

Painting by Mary Parsons of Paris from the river.

La Seine

When visiting Paris in 2015 I often travelled by ferry and sat sketching. This is a painting based on the ‘Institut de France’. This is an experimental painting using collage. The paper is protected / primed with Gesso before using oil paint.

Medium: mixed media with oil on canvas

Size: 70cmx100cm (27 ½” x 39 ½”)

Price: £300

I will put these on my Etsy shop within the week.
