This year, I've been working on the longest painting that I've ever completed, and it is now on view on the potting shed at Avebury Manor. It means there is a burst of colour in this potting shed!
I found it a tricky one to get started, because of its shape. I wanted an idea where the format would be an advantage.
I settled on illustrating the entire length of the Monk's Garden, including views down either side. Over the wall you can see Avebury Manor, the Alexander Keiller Museum, and St. James's Church. It is set at the changing time between summer and autumn seasons, featuring sunflowers, dahlias, rainbow chard and more.

It will first be seen from the left when people enter the room, where a view through an open gateway into the South Lawn shows sunlit grass. It is in quite an impressionist style, so probably best viewed stood back from.

I spent a day there finishing it off, as when I had it at home I wasn't sure how they would look as one piece.

Please tag me on Facebook or Instagram if you share a photo of it!
