This is a selection of six Wiltshire & Swindon Greetings Cards. Most of them were paintings or drawings completed on location.
- An ink and watercolour drawing of the church and the village green: this was the first time I visited Aldbourne to draw. I sat on the green and drew for a few hours in black and white, then added colour later at home.
- Oil painting of Aldbourne Band on the green at Aldbourne: This was the busiest crowd I had painted in front of at the time. Everyone was focused on the band until the interval, when I had quite a crowd to see what I was doing!
- Ink sketch of Aldbourne Band's Friends Concert in St Michael's Church: each year the band put a concert on for the Friends of Aldbourne Band. I drew a sketch during the evening. Later I added colour digitally, using scanned in drawings and painted papers. I used the dark audience to frame the brightly lit stage area. The colourful church adds contrast to the image.
- An oil painting of the kitchen garden at Avebury Manor: this colourful garden within the National Trust property has been my focus for a few paintings and drawings. I was drawn to this nasturtium-filled wheelbarrow last year, to add interest to the foreground.
- An oil painting of the Orchard at Avebury: completed at home from photographs; I prepared for winter by photographing a few colourful scenes on a sunny day in December. I liked the way the few remaining leaves caught the sun.
- Oil painting of St Mark's and GWR Park in Swindon: this was my first oil painting on location, (February 2024) and I have done many since. It was a warm enough day to sit outside. Sunshine highlighted winter colour against the cool wintery sky.
The cards are all A5 (148mm x 210mm) with matching envelopes
