A variety of markmaking in ink and watercolour gives this sketch a lot of visual interest.  The museum roof is framed by a mix of tree branches, Dahlias, sunflowers and foliage.   The brightness of the sunflowers predominate the colour, against more subtle greens and neutrals.
 
There are vague outlines of trees in the distance but most of the image is close, with rooftops, trees and a garden wall.
